Never Judge a Book by it's Cover
The Citizens of Earth are officially overjoyed that the U.S. president-elect Barack Obama will soon lead the United States. However, we are far more interested in his education, his thoughtfullness, his integrity, his ability to mediate discussions and lead a wonderfully diverse nation, his willingness to uphold the U.S. Constitution and the job he will do as president than we are with the color of his skin.
However, it cannot be denied that the election of the first black president of the United States of America is an occasion for celebration by all people of all colors and creeds. Why? Because it suggests that a man can indeed be judged "not by the color of his skin, but by the content of his character." A hope once expressed by the wise and eloquent Dr. King. Perhaps women, too, will can be judged by the content of their characters, rather than by the length of their skirts.
So that leaves us to wonder if race is significant in US Politics, and indeed in US Society, or if we as a people are learning to be more colorblind. Does this mean that in the future a woman or a man with dark skin will be able to run for the office of president with the news focusing on real issues instead of on skin color or gender? Here's hoping.
Combo Breaker!
Regardless of your stance of race in U.S. politics, the video below is funny. It's essentially 2008 U.S. Civics/History class meets the 1994 video game Killer Instinct. We would ike some representative democracy and $20 worth of arcade tokens, please. Remember both of those? Oh, and a large pepperoni pizza. Here's to a bright, non-judgemental, and open-minded future!

i have to say there is a cycle of white against black and black against white but also racism from within the ranks of the ethnic minorities. America as always had a problem and believe it always will.
the notion of equality as percribed will never be recoignised ie white women before black women. it is very bad but true of american society but i believe have actually taken one step further than europe or oceana countries where there prob wont be a ethnic leader for many many years yet
There can never be true progress without fully examining the past. White american has to own up to the past of slavery and the practices that have been in place for many years that saw them with all the advantages because of the color of their skin. Blacks need to stop using that as an excuss not to be productive in society. Yes, the good old boy network still lives on but you have to keep trying. The way the media plays such a negative roll in the way people think about one another. Look at all the crime that is being committed. Most of the negative news is about blacks. They're good and bad in all races. It 's not often (very rare) that black kids are going to school killing up their class mates, blacks aren't typical serial killers, they aren't the ones stilling billions from investment firms. It's time to face the short comings of all people, not just one race. Oh, their was a surplus on the National Budget before Bush took off from Clinton and Obama inheriated the debt from Bush administration. S
Let's face the truth about this race issue. The past is the results of the future. Back in the 60s my parents were not allowed to vote and they were not classified as citizens. Therefore as today that has change very little.
As I been watching news over 40 years or more, I've notice that starting from the highest court of the land,
down to the House and Senate there are few Black Americans who are within the House and none in Senate which let me know that there is still racial issues within this country. Being Democrat to me is well saying
"you may as well to be a conservative or a Republican. Today the Democrats act more as Tea Partiers than the Tea Partiers themselves which I call hipocrisy. Having people to cast their votes for them and when they are in office, forget about the people who put them there.

No, I think it's funny that people judge someone based on the activity level of the melanocytes in their skin. Frankly, it's rather stupid.
